Sucesfull Process Mining Workshop

I am delighted and honored to have hosted today one of the leading experts in process mining and BPM in general, prof. Marlon Dumas, at my Master Business Process Management course, at the University of Maribor, Slovenia.

Dr. Marlon Dumas is professor at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Tartu in Estonia. He is also a co-founder at Apromore, a collaborative business process analytics platform supporting the full spectrum of process mining functionality.

Professor Dumas is co-author of the “Fundamentals of Business Process Management” the leading BPM textbook, which is used in over 250 educational institutions around the world, in more than 70 countries, including “my” BPM course.

Prof. Dumas has an incredible academic career. According to Google Scholar, he has been cited more than 33597 times with an h-index of 78 (that means at least 78 publications, each with 78 citations).

This workshop has given the students a practical perspective on process mining. Students got familiar with how to use process mining to answer typical business process improvement questions. They learned how to answer some of these questions using a sample process mining tool, namely Apromore. The workshop included demos, and students got a chance to try the Apromore tool by themself.
